The last major kernel upgrade for the PS4 was 6.6 by crashniels. Now, feeRnt’s (Random-Kafk on the forum) kernels have fixed WiFi and Bluetooth on CUH-12XX PS4 models with Marvell 8897 (Torus 2.0) chipsets! This has been an age-long issue for CUH-12XX (PS4 Phat) owners who had the Torus 2.0 chipset. Unavailability of drivers or rather a fix for the drivers has prevented these PS4 owners from accessing WiFi or Bluetooth from PS4 Linux. Now, that issue seems resolved.
feeRnt has been on a roll and also went ahead and fixed the blackscreen issue on many models. He has also opensourced all his work on GitHub for anyone to access.
How to fix WiFi and Bluetooth for PS4 Linux on CUH-12XX?
The compiled version of the kernels for various PS4 models is available on feeRnt’s GitHub page. Here are the links for the same:-
- 6.15.4 for Aeolia & Belize (tested on CUH-1216, CUH-1003)
- 5.15.15 for Belize (tested on CUH-1215, CUH-1216)
He is also working on improved drivers for Baikal. You can grab that and the source code for all his kernels from the forum post here. Check the tutorial to compile the kernels from source, if you need to make any modifications.
Conclusion
All of this just goes on to prove that we still have interest and activity on the PS4 Linux scene. If you have something to share, please feel free to do so on PS4Linux forums.
