noob404 Hello , thanks for this awesome distro... I still following steps to make it work no my hacked PS4Pro, it is the most awaited distro in my opinion... I see a possible sugestion for new versions, the posibity to use the same USB in PS4 or PC I can´t report at this moment how it works for me becouse my Linux in Virtual box stills unpacking the tar file.... it seems infinity XD I hope to make it work today, In Raspberry we download and flash the ISOs... it is easier in this way for all the common peopple 🙂

GermanDroide After few hours of following steps, i achieve to get my usb with batocera for ps4... No results, no boots, nothing happens. I used Orbis binloader and tryed all the Linux payloads (from 1 to 5GB) 🙁 No error, nothing happened. Is there any other payloads to boot linux? I saw in the video a long url for the payload but is not complete to copy. I load Hen, the Orbis payloader and then the linux payload. In the 50MB partition is one Kernel and the initframs file as spected

hello, mi PS4 is a PS4 pro... I used the kernel that worked for me in other linux version i tested before... Linux is no my interest, no friendly with me but batocera seems amazing, I use RetroBat inside Windows and it is cool to get it for PS4.

please can you share one USB image to flash and then I add my roms, bios, etc?

noob404 it worked I bought a new keyboard because some keys didn't work lol
I also had to replug the hdmi and retype the keys combination with keybord.
I notice an error in the tuto to pair controller : it's SHARE + PS button.
And I have a problem with permission to copy games with ubuntu on SSD external.

MaFi4BoY You have to do it as root either with the terminal, like sudo cp or mv —which is kind of a pain when you want to directly extract rar or zip files into the drive—, or by launching your file manager with sudo in the terminal, like sudo thunar, dolphin, and so on.
I think you can also change permissions so anyone can move or copy files with chmod, but idk if it'll cause issues aside from security concerns.

Hi Sir, I followed your all steps but it still can not boot in to batocera,
I met a few problem:

Both virtualbox and vmware, I installed Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, I used gparted to setup a fat32 and 2 ext4 partitions,
after I unzip the batocera_v1_ps4linux.tar.xz to mobile SSD, I edited the batocera-boot.conf and added sharedevice=DEV UUID on it,
it can not save this file on "/media/user/ps4linux1/boot folder, it can only save as to the desktop, I double checked the folder permission,
it is only root access and change, until I use chmod 777 to change the boot folder permission become everyone, I can modify and save batocera-boot.conf.
I used your mentioned version, Kernel Baikal 4.14.93 By psxita (5.6MB) and initramfs.cpio.gz Multi-boot (By noob404) (3.9MB)
both PS4 and PS4 slim I tried, they boot up failure, also I tried several Kernel and initramfs.cpio.gz, also same failure.
after payload linux 2GB, it turned to black screen with white words, but the message is not same as yours.
it stopped there, please help & thanks!

Open the file batocera-boot.conf as root for editing, for eg;- if your text editor is leafpad, sudo leafpad batocera-boot.conf should do it.
What is the message that appears? Can you post a screenshot or a short video of what you see? And, have you made sure that your model is a Baikal?

Hi bro, I checked my ps4 southbridge, it is Belize, then I use Belize 5.3.18 and initramfs.cpio.gz Multi-boot (By noob404) (3.9MB), it stopped at below screen, when I press Ctrl Alt Del, it can restart and return to PS4, do you have any solution?

singho1122 This is mostly because of an incompatible kernel being used or due to improper naming of the drive containing Batocera. Does 4.14 or maybe 5.15 for Belize work?

singho1122 Maybe try psxita's initramfs and rename ps4linux1 to psxitarch and also has any kernel yet been able to boot Batocera successfully for you?
