I'm running linux off a usb atm (wasn't able to get internal installation working with the drivers, will revisit that another time) and I used the modified initram and kernal given on this forum as I have a belize southbridge with the mt7668. The drivers seem to work, as the bluetooth manager now opens without crashing and is able to find nearby devices and the network manager sees nearby wifi connections. Connecting to my wifi goes fine, and i see a connected symbol in the corner of my screen. However, whenever i open chromium, I cant reach any sites (not even sites on the lan, such as the router page). Pinging the router ip gives destination host unreachable. any ideas where to go from here? I can provide more info as needed. Its worth mentioning i did the install using a different initram (the install script in the modified initram expects .xz, where psxita v3 uses a .gz and has an updated initram). After installation, i swapped the initram files.

brwncrayon Swapping initram shouldn't be an issue. Share your journalctl for the current boot.

I turned off the system since then so i just booted and tried to load a page on chromium and still no dice. Then I ran journalctl > logs.txt (assuming thats what you meant, i dont know too much about linux). Heres that file

What error do you exactly on Chromium?

Follow these:- On a Windows machine, connect to the WiFi network, run ipconfig in cmd and see if your WiFi connection has a value for Connection-specific DNS Suffix . If yes, make a note of it. On PS4, make backup of resolv.conf: sudo cp /etc/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf.bak Edit it: sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf Replace lan with the value you got from Step 1. If it was blank, replace lan with . Replace 192.168.86.1 with 8.8.8.8 Restart PS4. See if it works. If it doesn't work, sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf - See if the changes made stuck. sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf - Copy and paste the text you see here.

noob404 Going to try this now. This is the result of ipconfig on a Windows machine. The bit under wireless LAN adapter is what I assume is most relevant, and the dns suffix is again lan. Under the other headers, its always blank. noob404 ok so i only tried changing the nameserver to 8.8.8.8 and then restarted the ps4 but the changes did not stick at all when i checked the file again. Here is the complete contents of networkmanager.conf # Configuration file for NetworkManager. \# See "man 5 NetworkManager.conf" for details. i added that backslash to prevent it from showing as a header, its not part of the original file.

Check if NetworkManager is running - sudo systemctl status NetworkManager See if it says Active and Running. If yes, sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and add this and save:- [main] dns=none Edit: sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf Replace 192.168.86.1 with 8.8.8.8 sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager Check if change stuck and see if internet works

thats a real bummer, i was looking forward to getting this to work. I see a comment on the blog post (here) where a user said they got theirs working by adding managed=true somewhere into their networkmanager.conf. do you think theres any chance that works in this situation?

The wifi/bt drivers are buggy, the wifi and/or bluetooth card might not be detected or crash, in case try restarting the console, disable the network and launch linux using the cache. If that doesn’t work unfortunately there is little you can do, you have to hope that someone will fix the drivers.

Is there a WiFi fix for fat ps4 aeiola too?
Running Linux without Internet isn't much funny.

Mag-G Run udevadm info /sys/bus/sdio/devices/* and post screenshot of output. Since it's Aeolia, I am fairly certain, it's the infamous Marvell chipset issue.
