Might as well get some use from this forum. I just installed Nobara 36 using the alternative method but its giving me a flashing - I"m using this initramfs https://mega.nz/file/xvZ1XZ5J#7i7LP0gJLHM2RmnVKhUZdIcLOTzIBEwxgsZzbeMq0a0 and the 5.15.18 kernel that whitehax0r/razr just released. The 5.15.15 belize kernel from the downloads page didn't help either.

having the same issue, i posted a reply in the releases forum. i'm glad i'm not the only one. if adding the bootargs.txt file doesnt do anything, which i dont think it will, i'll just revert to PopOS for now. Maybe there's a way we can just update the mesa driver manually instead of reinstalling the entire os

i added the bootargs.txt file to the fat32 partition and pressed ctrl-alt-f2 right when blinking cursor started, and was able to get to a login prompt. i logged in and typed startx, GUI loaded but gave this error message

hazyavocado Make sure you are using Ubuntu-based distro for the installation. And, are you using an HDD?

I'm not having much luck, I believe its the installation method that's the issue

I get the same results when trying it with pop os even though I have no issues installing via rescue shell

i tried copying all my popOS files back to the root of the ext4 partition and was able to boot, but the permissions are all screwed up, and i can't execute anything so i'm just going to reinstall from rescueshell. i think thats the best method for now until this gets sorted out. i'm not confident its possible to have a stable linux install by just copying files in this manner, or by just extracting the file to a blank partition.

having said all that, i was never able to get anything to boot with my ps4 pro belize until i added the bootargs.txt file to the fat32 partition. i believe that's necessary and it isnt mentioned much, so definitely try adding it if you're having problems. its just a single line of text as follows:

drm.edid_firmware=edid/1920x1080.bin

For sure, you dont see the bootarg file trick on any guides. Its gotten linux to work with all 6 of my displays that wouldn't before

Thefirebeast You will have to connect the USB drive containing Nobara to a PC running Linux and change the gdm conf file as explained in the article.
