I've just now attempted to upgrade to this release from your last release of popos 22.04 which was working fine , however after the system starts to boot and I see some text, i get a flashing cursor which then stops flashing. I waited a few minutes and no GUI so i hit ctrl-alt-del to restart the PS4. after hitting that key combo the cursor starts flashing again and system reboots.
I seem to recall having this issue before while trying many combos of distro, kernel, etc. (but always installing through the traditional method of running the setup script on the ps4 itself) and the only way i was able to get it to boot into the gui was to also include a text file called bootargs.txt which contains a single line of text:
drm.edid_firmware=edid/1920x1080.bin
i am running a ps4 pro 'belize' with hippie68 initramfs and 5.15 kernel. The previous install was done the traditional way, by running the install shell script on the ps4 to extract the files. This time, I decided rather than reformat my SSD, just to move all existing files to a folder called PopOS in the ext4 partition and then extract this release using the following command:
sudo tar -xvJpf /home/noob404/Desktop/ps4linux.tar.xz -C /media/noob404/psxitarch
is this ok to do? i had to run 'sudo chown $user /media/$user/psxitarch' to give myself permission to move those files and i'm wondering if i broke anything by just copying without reformatting.
also would recreating the bootargs.txt on the fat32 partition do anything? i'll def. test this to see
