CUH-7215/7216B Wi-Fi Fix for Arch based Distros testers.

Hello!

I have made an attempt to port the wifi fix for MT7668 to Arch , as there is no current script for it. I have based it on the debian script , and have used debtap to convert the .deb files to .tar.zst , and i have changed the dpkg command in the script to pacman -Ud. I reckon it should work , however currently my PS4 Pro CUH-7216B does not have linux installed , and i am yet to install it. Therefore , can anyone with these devices try and test this fix? Thank you.

Also , if someone more experienced than me in linux (there are probably many of you , haha) can just check on the script and let me know if anything is wrong, I would appreciate it.

Unfortunately , I am getting a kernel panic using the supplied 4.19 bzImage when i attempt to boot into an arch based distro. I will try to boot into debian and if the kernel panic does not persist , then I have failed , as the bzImage fails to boot into an arch based distribution , and I am not familiar with editing kernel images. I am using Wi-Fi fix bzImage from the ps4linux site. It is definitely weird to be hoping for a kernel panic , but lets hope for it , lol.

Hooray! Kernel panic on Debian 11! This means that not all hope is lost. I just need to fix the kernel panic with the MT7668 bzImage , and then I can try it. Model CUH-7216B. Does anyone have any ideas?

dhruvin Feels like more of an initram issue than kernel. BTW, are you trying on internal drive?

Kernel panic gone when I switched to new initramfs... interesting... I am installing psxitarch with the normal bzImage and will substitute once installed. Maybe the initramfs was the issue all along?

noob404 Nope , I have 128G flash drive. I am substituting the bzImage now. Let us hope for boot! (I will also have to change my OS after , as psxitarch has autologin , and i have hdmi issue , so i cant unplug hdmi then plug and use ctrl alt f2 and f1 bcos there is no login)

It booted! Yes!!! I am going to try my wifi fix now.

Wi-Fi fix works!! I had to do a quick change , since the .tar.zst files need to be done manually , but ill just edit the script to do it automatically. I am typing this message from my ps4 running psxitarch. Bluetooth is also functional. I will edit the script now and post it here. But so far so good!

Here is the final , working revision of my Wi-Fi fix for arch-based distributions. When it asks if you want to install the two packages , type y , or yes.

Confirmed to work on this device: CUH-7216B , psxitarch v3. Wi-Fi + Bluetooth are fully functional.
