Hello, First of all I would like to thank Noob404 and everyone else who made all this possible. My system: PS4 Pro 7216B Baikal Nobara 36 by Noob404 Kernel: 5.4.210 By whitehax0r My problem: I can't get a single Proton/Wine game to run. For example I tried to start Rocket League with Steam and different Proton versions. I tried to start the same game with Wine 8.4 staging via the Heroric Launcher. in all cases either the system freezes or the attempted start crashes. I tried using Custom Mesa from the download section. I also tried using Mesa 22.1 for the Pro from the forum. I was able to successfully install different Mesa versions, but the problem was always the same. I have now put many hours into this project. But now I don't know what else to try. I have exactly the same problem with other distributions such as psxitarch. OpenGL seems to work. When I start native Linux games, it works. I tested different games. So I'm guessing it's up to Mesa or Vulcan. I suspect you may need some logs. Just tell me which ones and I'll try to share them. I don't know. Can anyone help me?

Almost every game requires a different set of steps on PS4 Linux. If you are a Discord server member, have you tried any of the known working games?

I think it's a common mistake I made somewhere. The system freezes in every game I've tried. I guess that some component is not working properly like e.g. dxvk, llvm, volcano, mesa, etc. Of course I can test one of the supported games. However, I only know the ones on the website. I'm not a Discord member. I don't know the discord link either. if someone has my hardware, it would help me if someone told me their working combination of kernel os and initram. so I can rule out an error there. I'd also like to join the Discord if that's ok.

I guarantee the issue is the standard Mesa drivers that are pre-installed with Nobara 36. As someone who also has a PS4 Pro, I've also struggled in the beginning to get any games running. Once I replaced the Mesa drivers with Zerobou's drivers, I was able to get many games running. I would start here.

P.S. you might have to do a clean install of your distro with the Zerobou Mesa drivers to get it working. Source: I have done this myself.

Zabovis Okay. Many thanks. I think i can test this on this weekend. The Mesa driver i have uninstalled and installed this 22.2 driver. But my Problem is the same. I have tested ge proton 7-55. Same Problem. I have tested a Supportet game Portal 2. This game worked out of the Box.

More i can tested maybe tommorow. Rocked Leage is free to play on epic. Maybe every one can test it out. I tell you more Feedback what i have tommorow.

The Mesa driver i have uninstalled and installed this 22.2 driver. But my Problem is the same.

You will have to reinstall your entire distro from scratch and then re-install the Zerobou Mesa drivers.

Zabovis Okay. I have installed Nobara with alternate method. Then i have uninstalled mesa on PS4 with this command:

sudo rpm -e --nodeps $(rpm -qa "mesa*")

Then i have installed the Packages from Mesa driver with:

sudo yum install *.rpm

In both folders. Is this was wrong ?

I have test it on Belize and on Baikal after a fresh Installation.

Rocket League is one Game what i played a liitle with my friends. I think this game playable on ps4 linux is for me a Milestone. But at this time i have no luck and the same Problem.

Have you also followed these commands? If not, you need to do each command that is listed here. Otherwise your Mesa drivers won't be installed properly and it will not work.

P.S. if you try the commands above and it does not work. You will have to reinstall your distro and run the same commands again.

libdrm and xorg-x11 also need to be uninstalled not just Mesa. These are the commands I'm referring to:

Type sudo rpm -e --nodeps $(rpm -qa "mesa") and press Enter.
Type sudo rpm -e --nodeps $(rpm -qa "libdrm") and press Enter.
Type sudo rpm -e --nodeps $(rpm -qa "xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu*") and press Enter.

Then, install the Mesa drivers for both 32bit and 64bit.

I read that no aco compiler works there.

With Mesa 22.1, llvm and aco should work.
I'm a bit unsure about that.

But otherwise just install Mesa 22.2 under the following link:

Or is it already included in the Mesa driver 22.2?

Follow every single instruction listed here to install Zerobou's Mesa. Do not skip any steps. Driver Instructions
Restart your PS4 and log into Linux. Test Rocket League to see if it works. Keep in mind, there are many games that are not compatible with PS4 Linux. There is a list of compatible games on the Discord server.
If steps 1 through 3 do not work. Do a clean install of your distro. MAKE SURE THE FIRST THING YOU DO is update the Mesa drivers using these instructions I just wrote for you. Thanks.

Zabovis Many thanks for your support. I managed to do it in the meantime. It was actually a mix of missing swap and the Mesa drivers.

For the Mesa drivers, I downloaded the driver package from the github source for Nobara 36 from noob404 and replaced all Mesa 23 there with the Mesa 22.2 packages.

Then uninstalled mesa,libdrm and xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu.

After that installed everything from the above package. After that everything finally worked. Unfortunately, I only get to test something on the weekend, so please excuse my long response times.
