No valid USB found?!

Hello guys!

I have a "special" situation with my PS4 Slim when I want to install Linux. I have already installed the distro of Modded Warfare - however something did not work when personalizing and so I thought I could try another distro.

I formatted the USB again and copied all the necessary files back to it.
However, now I always get the error "no valid usb found - maybe its not FAT32 or some files are corrupt".

In my opinion I didn't do anything different (same files, USB is MBR) than before and so it's a bit frustrating.

What I have tried since then:

another USB
another program to format
16GB primary partition, 4KB block size
USB plugged in when starting the PS4
other initramfs
other bzImage (my PS4 has a Belize Southbridge)
USB in other slot
USB is "actually" recognized by PS4 (could format USB as external storage)

Maybe I missed something and that's why I turn to you as professionals - thanks in advance!

barryallen i had simmilar issues with modded warfares initram. Am i guessing right, you use it too?
What is the distro your are trying actually?
For USB i had best results with hippie68's initram

noob404 when I try to extract the image I get the following error:

xz: (stdin): File format not recognized
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

command I used: sudo tar -xvJpf /home/parallels/Desktop/psxitarch.tar.xz -C /media/parallels/psxitarch

barryallen maybe you could try flashing. I build some flashable Images for User with installation Problems. After flashing with balena etcher, you can change kernel and initram like you need it. I build them on aeiola.

At the moment I'm trying to make it work with the image of your collection...where or when do I have to copy the bzImage and initram?

barryallen when you have flashed my USB Image you will find two Partitions the first is fat32 there are kernel and initram located the second is the Installation and ext4 formatted.
I would suggest using hippie68's initram and test belize kernels till it boots.

(hopefully) one last question: there are some emulators in the games section/menu...how can I add emulators f. e. the PS2 emulator? is there something like an appstore or software-center?
