Hi there im trying to get vbox setup on my PS4 running Manjaro. I know the issue is that the kernel from the bzImage does not have support for the vbox kernel modules needed to start a VM. So is t possible to add these modules to a custom bzImage? Has anyone tried this and has a working bzImage for Aeolia? Or can someone provide a link to the source code preferably for 5.4.2 for my chipset so i can try and compile my own. Appreciate any help here.

ibard Try make -j9 bzImage and make sure you have already installed all the kernel building tools.

What distro are you using to build it on? Looks like a GCC error. Run gcc -v and if it's 12, then install gcc-11 for your distro and make it default. Try again.

noob404 I'm running Manjaro 22 on the ps4 as my daily driver. How do i make gcc11 the default?

ibard Google's your friend here. It changes from distro to distro. Reply if you have trouble following the instructions.

Update. Finally got the custom kernel compiled with the vbox drivers. Eventually I had to use a Pop OS instance to get it done as I couldn't find a way to use the older gcc 11 with Manjaro. That being said unfortunately despite the new bzImage with drivers baked in virtualbox still does not work and gives the same error messages . I tried to use QEMU instead but no luck either when i tried some trouble shooting after running the following    ~  egrep -c '(vmx|svm)' /proc/cpuinfo  ✔ egrep: warning: egrep is obsolescent; using grep -E 0 which long and short means virtualization is not enabled via bios and i don't know if it is possible to enable seeing we cant get to the PS4's bios setup. Or can we? has anyone out there ever managed to do so? Has anyone ever gotten virtualization working on the PS4? I just watched this [ Itmania successfully running vbox on ps4 cant seem to find any tutorials on how.

ibard Maybe you could try messaging ITmania through YouTube? I don't know when 5.15.15 kernel was released, but that video is 3 years old. He might have been using an older kernel version. Not sure. Check this out
