Nobara 36 doesn"t load, only grey screen after boot

hey there

just installed Nobara 36 through the alternative install and got it booting, but I"m stuck with a grey screen after boot (after boot).
I don"t know why this is happening, I"m using hippie68"s initramfs, kernel is 5.3.18, I have the Belize southbridge. Hardware is PS4 Pro, it reported that it has "Belize2 A0 (0x40100)". I"m stuck and now wondering, if kernel swap would help or another bzimage, initramfs or whole other distro. Would be glad, if someone could help me out.

cntrl+alt+f1 or f2 and so on works, but no command line, it even gets to power saving mode if I let it sit for a while and responds to any keystrokes, so I"m thinking that there is something going graphics related

Well this is new. Does the recueshell atleast show up, i.e., does anything show up on screen after you load the Linux payload?

noob404 yes, it does, just as I said, in boot up I can see all the messages what's going on in the moment it boots, but after it is done, I just simply land on a grey screen. Maybe it is really kernel related? Do I have the correct files for Belize? Is "Belize2" an other southbridge than the one without the "2"?

But I cannot see any rescue shell at all, just a blank, grey screen...

I'm not that into Linux, use it sometimes, I know how to use the commandline but I'm just a simple car mechanic 😅 ok, I study now, but that doesn't matter ✌️😂

Ubuntu_Man Np dude! My aim with this initative is to bring PS4 Linux to as many people as possible. Anyways, try this. When you reach the grey screen, unplug HDMI (from PS4 or the TV). Then reconnect it. Now, on your keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+F2. If the terminal comes up, press Ctrl+Alt+F1. Let me know if that works.

noob404 I had the same problem, but your method didn't solve the issue, the system hangs in a grey screen with a stuck cursor in the top left. By long pressing the power on button the system shuts down pretty fast (faster than if it was stuck on login). I reverted to nobara os in the meantime.

Ubuntu_Man I had the same problem before, my solution was to unplug the hdmi cable and press Ctrl+Alt+F2 then Ctrl+Alt+F1.
then go to settings and enable auto login and copy to your usb drive the bootargs. you will not have black screen again

HAD3NOP already did that, but without "bootargs". I have to replug HDMI to get it working, I never had a black screen issue, it was my "grey screen" issue, which I already got working, but thanks anyway.

Quilava The stuck cursor is probably because you didn't use an Ubuntu based distro for installation. The solution I mentioned is fine when you have a blinking cursor.

noob404 I used ubuntu 22.04 and installed nobara 36 the same way I installed nobara os, same bzImage same initramfs, nobara boots with ctrl + alt + f2/f1 but nobara 36 gets stuck, not a clue.
