The payloads aren't yet available for firmwares <9.00. If you are good at low-level stuff, you can try comparing the offsets between 5.05 and 9.00 on PS3ITA's GitHub page (look for kexec) and then migrate for 5.05.
No idea if it'll work, but, you can try.
